Strasser Family

This is a work-in-progress blog post with the intention of figuring out how William Strasser (maybe the son of Captain Antoine Strasser?) connects to Albert Strasser and the handwritten genealogy my grandmother saved.

William Strasser was born in 1819 in France. He had two daughters with Elizabeth Hennenberger: Emma H. Strasser and Marie E. Strasser.

Emma H. Strasser was born on July 4, 1839, in Germany. She married Theodore Mundelius in 1875. They had one child, Otto Mundelius, during their marriage. She died on October 15, 1913, in Boston, Massachusetts, at the age of 74.

Marie E. Strasser (My grandmother Mimi's grandmother) was born in September 1853 in France. She married Julius Pelletier in 1876. They had four children in 17 years (Bertha Pelletier, William Julius Pelletier, Julius Pelletier, and Emma Marie Pelletier). She died on February 2, 1937, at the age of 83.

Below are photos that my grandmother saved, click to view larger

A 1902 city directory has Emma widowed, working as a nurse, and living at 53 Walden Street in Jamaica Plain, MA. According to the 1910 census, Emma H. Strasser Mundelius was living with her sister Marie and brother-in-law Julius at 52 Forbes Street. Both of her children were deceased at the time. While her sister Marie spoke English, she only spoke French. The census records states that she was blind. She passed away on October 15, 1913.

Below is a handwritten Strasser genealogy.

My co-worker helped me by translating the document into English:
