I have always wanted to learn how to create cyanotypes—and with all my new free time during COVID-19—I finally did just that. With the help from a few classes I took online at Skillshare, I learned about mixing chemicals, necessary supplies, developing, and drying. The rest was trial and error and it became quite addicting.

If you're wondering what a cyanotype is, here is the definition from Wikipedia: Cyanotype is a photographic printing process that produces a cyan-blue print. Engineers used the process well into the 20th century as a simple and low-cost process to produce copies of drawings, referred to as blueprints.

My family has a history with the blueprinting business, so a part of me feels that creating my own blueprints was fate. Here's a sample of what that kismet brought during the summer of 2020:
