Escape with Art

If you have an appreciation for art, there is so much of it to see in the greater Boston area. One of my favorite places to visit when I need my creative batteries charged is the Harvard Art Museums in Cambridge, MA. Once individual museums; the Fogg Museum, Busch-Reisinger Museum, and Arthur M. Sackler Museum are now housed in one building a stone’s throw away from Harvard Yard. There is something for every interest: sculpture, photographs, drawings, manuscripts, prints, paintings, stained glass, and more.Stepping inside the museum gives me a little break from reality. I feel like I could be in another country when I walk through the galleries. It’s amazing to see in-person, work by artists I once learned about in art history books. Looking at a Vincent van Gogh painting from 1886 up close blows my mind. Not to mention Matisse, Monet, Gauguin, and Picasso!Admission for adults is $15. However, it is free for Cambridge residents and youth under 18 and free for Massachusetts residents on Saturdays from 10 am-noon.
